CONGRESS 2011 FOURTH PABS CONGRESS: SOUTH AFRICA 6-9 February 2011
SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT
THE EVENT: The fourth congress will be a unique opportunity for burn care workers in Africa to come together and to share in a mutual interest: prevention, management, rehabilitation and burn research in Africa. International speakers will highlight development in the international arena with experts from around the world.
In addition to the congress, a one day course for medical professions on the Emergency Management of Severe Burns (EMSB) will be presented on Wednesday 9 February 2011. The course was developed by the Australian and New Zealand Burn Association. It is supported by the Phoenix Burns Project, the South African Burn Society and the Emergency Medicine Society of South Africa. It is used under licence and only with the permission of the Australian and New Zealand Burn Association with whom all copyright remains. On the same day a workshop for the helping professions (e.g. occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, dieticians and nurses) on rehabilitation will be presented. Nurses can choose between attending the EMSB course or the Rehabilitation Workshop.
